Tommy is a 10 month old Yorkshire Terrier cross Cairn Terrier who is being fostered in Cardiff. He came into rescue through no fault of his own and is now looking for his forever family. At first Tommy was reactive to men but this has got better as he has settled in his foster home. He is a happy boy who loves people but is still a puppy so his adopters will need to be ready for a bouncy, playful and headstrong terrier youngster! He lives with other dogs in his foster home but can get a bit growly over food and over his favourite human, although this is getting better over time. Playful Tommy lives with cats at the moment but would need a dog savvy cat to stand up to him, rather than run away.
Tommy is fine in the home. He can be left for a couple of hours in a crate and with other dogs, although initially he will cry. He loves to play with a ball and his favourite place is on your lap giving kisses. He isn’t too bad walking on the lead but further training and socialisation will always benefit him as he is such a young dog. He travels well in the car and is fine when meeting other dogs and people off lead.
Tommy is still a puppy so will need his humans to be around for most of the day as he does adore company. He can be homed with another dog but his adopters will need to be aware of his jealous streak. Tommy is up to date with his flea and worm treatment, is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet Tommy in his foster home in Cardiff, South Wales.
If you are interested in adopting Tommy please read about our rehoming process and complete a Pre-Adoption form ( link here ) and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you for a chat.
